NIEUWSBRIEF

This year is almost over and looking back we can only say that we have been blessed enormously.
Due to the inflation of 36% this year, it was hard to face our needs, but, thank God, we managed to do so each month!
A few years ago we could pay for our daily needs from the money we received from our regular, monthly sponsors. At the moment we have some more sponsors, yet the money is now a third of our monthly needs. Fortunately we always have had enough.
This year we welcomed 6 new children. After a lot of hardship they are now part of a loving family which they enjoy a lot.

The children had a week's holiday and we made some trips. With all our children we went to the countryside for a day. Also our older students had a day off, therefore all our older boys and girls went along. They had a great day. It was so much fun to watch these big guys play with the little children. During the bus ride all of them were singing. I can only be grateful when I watch them behaving like a big family.

In fosterhome 1 we have got a new girl, Namona. This was possible because a 19-year-old girl moved to our girls project where they live on their own, more or less. Also our two older boys are doing well. They live on their own in a ger, but they love to come along on a trip to the countryside.
A lady in her late thirties is the mother in fosterhome 1 and during the day she is assisted by another woman. They treat the children well and we really appreciate them.

In fosterhome 2 Dorjoo no longer is our youngest child, because a little girl was added to this group. Her name is Ariunzaja. In the fosterhomes we mainly have younger children. Also in fosterhome 2 we have a good mother who stays during the night and during the day a elderly lady comes to help her. The children adore them and we appreciate them as much as our other mothers. Good staff is essential in child care.

Also the girls' haschaa is doing well. The girls get good grades in university. Two girls are a bit younger and are still in secondary school. Two other girls have got jobs. Someone gave us a beautiful ger. We pray more girls will come because we now have enough space. One of our problems is the haschaa house we built a couple of years ago. Due to new government regulations the septic tank is too close to the house. Therefore we did not get our official approval which is needed each year for all our projects.
Positive news is that all organisations who work with children were checked whether they provide healthy food. We got third prize!

On our second haschaa we have two gers. In each ger two older boys live. They used to live in the fosterhomes, but now they live on their own. Two other families who had lived here for quite some time now moved to a haschaa of their own. They have to look after themselves now. However, we continue to look after their children and pay for their schooling. In case of emergency we can provide housing on this hashaa for poor families.

On our third haschaa we also have two gers. In one of the gers a granddad has lived with his three grandchildren for several years. The two girls are good students. The boy is deaf and attends a special school for the deaf.
I would love to send this deaf boy to Thailand to see whether something can be done about his deafness. A Mongalian doctor told me that this was possible. Of course this is quite expensive and we don't know if it would really help.
In the second ger lives a mother who is reunited with her son and daughter. The daughter just got married and has moved out. We financially support these two families.

Volunteers
At the moment we have got two volunteers from Holland, Maarten and Leonie. They do all kinds of jobs. Maarten teaches English every day. He uses a lot of drawings during his lessons. The children just love it. Dorjoo always says: "See you tomorrow".

As I mentioned before, the government introduces many new regulations which makes it hard for us to do our work properly. Would you please pray for us that we can continue with all our projects?

When you would like to support one of our new children, please let us know.

Also this year we will want to give our children a Christmas gift. We would like to give them a new coat or a pair of new shoes. This will cost 20 euro per child. All together we have got 46 children. When you would like to finance one or more Christmas gifts we would be very grateful.

On behalf of Asian Foundation I would like to thank you very much for your prayers and support during 2008 and I wish you a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
